MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Canadian Music Showcase, our annual non-competitive music festival focusing on sharing and learning about music by Canadian composers past and present. The November timeframe is chosen to coincide with the national celebration of Canada Music Week which was initiated by the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers Associations.

Adjudication is given in a masterclass format designed to be supportive and constructive for participating students. We are happy that we have been able once again to engage musicians of high calibre to listen to and comment on each performance.

Seeing so many familiar names and faces over the years encourages us to think of CMS as part of your musical family. We are grateful to the teachers, parents and students who continue to support our festival in the face of so many other competing demands and interests.

Performers will be awarded a certificate for their participation.  In addition, thanks to our generous supporters, a cash prize will be awarded for Most Promising in the junior and senior categories.
